Camilla Birley

Camilla Birley

Physiotherapist

Camilla joined Cranfold’s Physiotherapy team in 2016. Camilla enjoys treating a wide range of muscle and joint problems including spinal pain, hip and knee pain; she has considerable experience treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and problems. Camilla has a special interest in shoulder pain particularly in chronic and/or complex shoulders.

Alongside physiotherapy, Camilla really enjoys teaching a number of classes at Cranfold. She teaches Intermediate and Mixed Pilates Classes for Cranfold in Cranleigh and her classes are progressive, individually tailored and fun. Camilla also teaches Cranfolds Strength and balance class. This class is designed primarily for older adults with mobility and/or balance problems but is also suitable for anyone whose feeling weak or wobbly for example after a hip replacement, or a long illness. She helps these clients to increase their confidence and fitness; working together to enable them to spend more time doing the things they love; be it playing with grand-children and gardening or visiting friends and family.

Since her graduation as a Physiotherapy Scholar from Kings College, London in 2012, Camilla has continued to focus on her training and professional development. She has completed her Postural Stability Instructor training, Foundation in Acupuncture as well as several Pilates courses with the APPI. Camilla is an active member of Cranfold’s in house CPD (continuing professional development) team assisting with both organising and presenting in-house training sessions for the Physiotherapy and Pilates teams.

Camilla is a keen horse rider and enjoys skiing and snowboarding too. She has run the London Marathon (many years ago!) and completed the Skeleton Bobsleigh course in St Moritz on several occasions. Camilla lives in the lovely Surrey Hills with her husband, two children and a naughty whippet.
